To All Our Lost ‘Mates WC - 73
Is there in life a chance to be,
a friend to each and all we see?
If we did not back then, can we now to all send,
our love and best wishes until we ascend?
In our large class, we could not know,
who would be first or the next to go.
Some shared full life with, some none at all,
could we have made better use of our time in the hall?
T’was strangers we passed until eyes met in pairs,
and smiles were exchanged instead of just stares.
Oh, Time take us back to the days we have lost,
to the innocent life – we’ll pay any cost.
If pain was involved, we hope ‘tis forgiven,
but forgotten be not by the classmates still living.
No matter whose fault, no matter the reason,
we hope you found rest where its always a season,
of warm gentle breeze, beside tropical seas.
Take Margarita in hand, lay back on the sand,
with palm trees above, wrapped in wings of The Dove.
We pray you have reached a peaceful rest,
and wish that always you’ll be blessed.
Please pray for us too until we have died,
then reach down to lift us to where we’ll reside.
Chance crossed our paths once, will it happen again?
If seconds are granted, can we be your friend?
